For more than four decades, Tom Berkowitz Trucking has been a trusted part of the Blackstone Valley community. Founded in 1981, our family-owned company began with a simple mission: provide reliable, straightforward rubbish removal to local homes and businesses—and always do the job right.

What started with a single truck has grown into a full-service waste removal operation serving residential neighborhoods, contractors, property managers, and commercial clients throughout the region. Through every stage of growth, our commitment has stayed the same: honest service, fair pricing, and a team you can count on.

Our History:

Rooted in Northbridge, Grown in the Valley

In 1980, Tom Berkowitz started with a single Dodge dump truck and a simple commitment to his neighbors. In those early days, the route was small but essential—hauling debris from Northbridge mills, local homes, and apartments to the town dump. Tom didn't just pick up waste; he built relationships.

As the community’s needs grew, so did we. Tom moved operations from a home office to a permanent garage in 1991—the very location where we operate today. In 1997, we took a major step forward by building our own transfer station next door, allowing us to handle our own material and serve our customers with greater independence and efficiency.

Today, Tom Berkowitz Trucking Inc. remains a family-run business, now under the leadership of the second generation, Jimmy Berkowitz. While our fleet has grown to over 25 vehicles and 25 employees, our philosophy hasn’t changed. We believe in keeping business local. We are proud to say that some of our team members and customers have been with us for over 30 years—we don't just see them as business contacts; we see them as family.

We have expanded well beyond simple waste removal. Today, we support the entire Blackstone Valley with a full-service transfer station, a gravel pit for concrete, stumps, and yard waste, and comprehensive residential and commercial services.

From that first old dump truck to our modern fleet, our goal remains the same: to grow alongside the Blackstone Valley and support the community we call home.

More Than Trash Removal

Beyond everyday disposal, our team also assists with house cleanouts, demolition, moving-related debris removal, and the hauling of oversized materials. We also offer gravel pit services for contractors, including material disposal and access to quality construction and landscaping materials. From construction debris to old appliances, from concrete to full-property cleanouts, we’re equipped to handle the jobs that most people don’t want to take on themselves.
